what words will come
in the half-light
of this darkened room
where my own hand
obscures my view of the words
with the shadow it casts
moments of my day
seep in
footsteps in snow
tiny bits of nature
also partly obscured
glimpsed through her rich, piercing quietness
the shadow of snowfall
each wee glimpse of Beauty
is a voice whose plea is
see me
hear me
know that I am here
with all these tiny voices
who call to me and my lens
together we weave a web that
holds all
connecting
this moment to the Infinite
this solid curve and colour with the Vast Mystery
soul-family, sister to sister
all swimming together in the river of Gratitude
I am powerless to refuse these voices
I bring you their light
their message
so we may each celebrate our place
in this web of the Infinite
together
never alone

Gorgeous! So much stand out:
the ending, “never alone” – of course! and “all swimming together in the river of Gratitude” – and the lovely links – and your voice!! Oh, this is wonderful. Thank you for this, Teresa!

Thanks, Karen! It’s all this wonderful connecting that is what’s important, isn’t it? And seeing – really seeing – the small things that split our hearts right open.
Glad you’re in my soul-family, sister,
Hugs and butterflies,
~Teresa~

this has been open in my browser since it was published, and i’ve read it several times, but never stopped to tell you how beautiful it is. you know, in southern culture, pinecones are symbols of hospitality. thank you for including me in such a lovely, thoughtful, altaresque post.

Oh, Jeanne! I love the symbols in southern culture! Could you teach a course on it? For those of us with Canadian veins?
So lovely to see you here. So relieved to know you leave posts open for days, too….
Hugs and butterflies,
~Teresa~
