think of the peace
this leads to
sure, right now, this is rough terrain
roots and stones
and tripping hazards
on an uphill ascent
but we know that we will never walk
this exact path again
we know that some obstacles upon it
once vanquished
will ne’er return
and we know that each step
on this steep
awkward
unpredictable
journey
strengthens us
muscles
lungs
resolve
grow stronger with each step
of progress
and this, in itself
is Beauty
whatever we meet on the next hill
will be
and we will find the Beauty there
too
